The weather this week has been really gloomy and we are all feeling that Spring angst. We want it to be sunny and warm but the weather is just not cooperating. I know that many of us turn to music to make us feel better when the weather is like this, raise our voices joyfully. Turn on the radio and let the music flow through you to get your creativity flowing. Or, sit down with your instrument for some quality time. I, personally, like to sit and play easy happy songs from the golden age of movie musicals to lift my spirits. Rebeccah plays good old Irish tunes off the top of her head (she says that in Ireland the rain is beautiful, not gloomy like here). Dean sits at his organ and just plays whatever his hands and feet make. Eloise plays for her old dog and then goes out into the garden (weather permitting). There have been countless studies about music being used to make us feel better, if you want to read more just google “music therapy depression” and you will be amazed by the success stories. What do you do and play to make yourself feel better?
Gloomy Weather + Music = Happier!
Happy Easter Everyone!
